The
Heiwashin Dojo is a non-profit martial arts club in the Metro Baton
Rouge
area. Our mission is to propagate traditionally-based Martial Arts in a
positive and non-threatening atmosphere.
Our training is in
traditionally-based Jujutsu, with an emphasis in teaching not only the
self-defense aspects, but also the art of
Jujutsu.
We train at
the C. B. Pennington Branch YMCA in Baton Rouge. You are invited to come and watch our
classes or to contact us concerning additional information about our

Membership in the United States Ju-Jitsu Federation
Students are required to join the
United States Ju-Jitsu Federation within a reasonable time period after starting. Generally,
this would be within a month of beginning your training.
Students must be a member in
good standing with the United States Ju-Jitsu Federation (USJJF) to be promoted. The USJJF is
the national governing body for Ju-Jitsu in the United States and is the only organization recognized by the
Ju-Jitsu International Federation in this country. The Ju-Jitsu International
Federation is the recognized International Governing Body for Ju-Jitsu.
When you join the United States Ju-Jitsu Federation, you
will receive the Federation patch, a membership card, a rank certificate and
registration of your rank. The annual membership fee is $25.00 for adults and
$15.00 for youths 12 and under.
Although you will never be required to pay for rank
testing or promotion, if you desire to register your rank with the USJJF, you will be required to pay a standard promotion fee once you have
passed your examination. Promotion fees are $15.00 for each rank under black
belt and are payable to the USJJF.
